Things have been very busy here at John Linton Photography of late. From covering a recent Royal visit for the Scottish Leather Group, to heading to the Isle of Muck for a few days with a features writer for the Daily Mail and an 18 mile walks across the Knoydart Peninsula (again for the Mail); the Scotland on Sunday's Spectrum Magazine ran a 4 page feature of my portraits of the parrots on the small island of Kerrera. Since I last updated the site I've taken pictures of snow covered hills, kids eating ice lollies, of dried out river banks and stormy seas among many other subjects. There are a few interesting developments, both on the press and on the PR side of things...sign up to the newsletter to be kept up to date.
***UPDATE - DATE CHANGE***
SHOOTING GALLERY LAUNCH EXHIBITION
TUES 6 April 2010, 6pm - 9pm
Here at John Linton Photography we're proud to announce that The Shooting Gallery is due to begin trading on April 6th 2010 with an exhibition at 44 Houston Street across from the Springfield Quay. The idea is that there are loads of working commercial and press photographers and graphic designers in Scotland who are creating great artistic images for their personal projects that rarely see the light of day. The Shooting Gallery has been set up to take exhibitions of this unseen work around various interesting spaces: for them to bask in the glow of public appreciation of course. That's the theory anyhow...
John will be exhibiting a mixed selection of his own pictures to get the show on the road...a short series of found still life photographs called Life Under Ice, and a selection of various landscapes and figurative shots. Am happy to announce that Carol McCabe will be showing some of her expressive street photography from Coney Island, New York. Also excited about having talked Irish graphic designer Seamus Murphy into displaying some of his anarchic 'Dead Celebrity' illustrations, which have rarely been seen but are more than worth the trip alone. Kevin Hunter's Atmosphere Art will be showing some exclusive Babyshambles paintings with authorisation from the band.
The exhibition is open on both the Tues and Wed (6th and 7th April) and arrangements can be made for viewing fro the rest of the week.
Hope to see you there...
